Bihar Police ASI Steno Recruitment 2024 Sylabus
- Recruitment Process:
- The recruitment process includes a written competitive examination and a typing eligibility test.
- Written Competitive Examination:
- A written competitive examination will be conducted for candidates whose Applications are found correct.
- The written examination will have two question papers.
- First Question Paper:
- The first question paper consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 100 marks in General Hindi.
- It is mandatory to obtain a minimum of 30 marks; otherwise, the candidate will be declared ineligible.
- The duration of the General Hindi paper will be 1-1/2 hours.
- The marks obtained in the General Hindi paper will not be included in the merit list.
- Second Question Paper:
- The second question paper will consist of General Knowledge and General Awareness topics.
- There will be 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth a total of 200 marks.
- The duration of the examination will be 2 hours.
- 0.2 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Candidates with benchmark disabilities who are either appearing with a scribe or without a scribe will be given an additional compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination.
- Based on the marks obtained in the written examination, the merit list of successful candidates will be called for Dictation Test, Hindi and English typing tests and Computer Knowledge Test.
- Hindi Dictation Test:
- The Dictation test will be conducted at a speed of 80 words per minute, and the test will be conducted for 5 minutes.
- An additional 20 minutes will be given to type the content.
- Before starting the typing , candidates will be given 2 extra minutes for Correction.
- To qualify in the test the error rate must not exceed 10%.
- Typing Test:
- Candidates will be required to type a minimum of 300 words at the speed of 30 words per minute in both Hindi and English in 10 minutes each.
- The Error in Hindi Typing Should be less than 5 % and in English typing it Should be less than 10 %.
- Computer Knowledge Test:
- The candidates’ practical knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Internet will be tested. Candidates who fail this test will be declared ineligible.
- Note: Candidates declared proficient in stenography (certified through full transcription) and computer competency tests will be given preference for selection based on their results.

My Photo/Sign are not getting saved ?
Photo and signature should be of dimensions as mentioned in the notification. Ensure that the images are in JPG/JPEG format. The photo should not be blurry so, please upload a clean and clear image.
How do I get login credential (i.e. Email Id and Password) for logging in ?
During the process of online registration, you will generate your own password and enter an Email Id. After submission of registration form, Candidates are advised to keep the Email Id and password confidential till the end of the process. Password is very important for participating in the Online Process. Sharing of password can result in its misuse by somebody else, leading to even exclusion of genuine candidate from the online process.
What should I do if there is a delay in accessing the webpage /website ?

If I forget my password that I have created during the process of registration, how to retrieve it?
To retrieve the forgotten password, system facilitates the following process: Click on Forgot Password. The above data submitted by candidate will be validated with registered candidate’s database. If the above entries match, only then the system will allow to create a new password.
